The Tampa “Are We Dating The Same Guy” group is private and women-only, so you can’t look for yourself. We search it for you, along with the groups around it, and email you a written report within 24 hours.
“Are We Dating The Same Guy” is a network of private Facebook groups, each one tied to a city or region. Women join the group for where they live, post a photo or a screenshot of a man they’ve met or matched with, and ask whether anyone else knows him. Here is how that works in Tampa.
Tampa Bay is really three cities. Tampa sits on one side, and St. Petersburg and Clearwater share the Pinellas peninsula on the other, with Old Tampa Bay between them and a handful of bridges and causeways joining them. Plenty of people cross those bridges to date. Plenty of others don’t, and treat the far side of the bay as another city at rush hour.
Dating apps don’t see the water, though. A man in South Tampa and a woman in downtown St. Pete can match without a second thought, and the groups covering the area reflect that same shared pool.
The main Tampa group doesn’t appear in Facebook search, so a man trying to look for himself usually can’t find it at all. A backup group covering Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater is visible, and posts can appear there as well as in the main one. Between the two, and the Florida groups that overlap with both, there is more to look through than most men expect.
Within Tampa, dating tends to gather in a few places: Channelside and the downtown waterfront, the bars and restaurants along South Howard in SoHo, and Ybor City late at night. Across the bay, downtown St. Pete has its own scene, and on weekends the beaches from Clearwater down to St. Pete Beach fill with locals and visitors alike. A first date in any of those spots can involve two people who live a long way apart. Seasonal residents and spring visitors add to the mix around the beaches, and some of them are only in the area for part of the year.
MacDill Air Force Base, at the southern tip of South Tampa, brings service members who arrive, date for a while and transfer out. The University of South Florida adds a large student population in north Tampa, and many graduates stay in the area. I-4 links Tampa with Lakeland and Orlando, and some men date along that corridor without thinking of it as two different places. Closer in, Brandon and Riverview to the east and Wesley Chapel to the north in Pasco County have grown quickly, and many people who live there drive into Tampa to date.
For a Tampa check, we look through the groups covering Tampa first, including the visible Tampa, St. Pete and Clearwater group, and then the nearby and statewide groups that share the bay’s dating pool. If you’ve lived near another base, spent time in Orlando or dated somewhere else entirely, put it in your order notes and we’ll extend the search to cover it.
The report arrives within 24 hours, and it gives you something real to go on instead of reading meaning into a match who went quiet.
Admins screen people before they’re let in, and men are turned away. There is no visitor view and no way to browse from outside.
Posts don’t show up on Google or in Facebook search outside the group. If you’re in a post, it exists only for the people inside.
Getting a friend to look means telling her why. Most men would rather not, and one person scrolling a busy group can easily miss a post.
By your first name and age, by the photos you upload, and by any dating app handles or nicknames you give us. Photos matter most: many posts are just a screenshot of a profile with no name attached.
A written report by email. If something is there, you get a direct link to the post, screenshots, the date it went up, and how much attention it has had. If nothing is there, we say so plainly and list everywhere we looked.
Tea is the other place men get posted, and it works differently from the groups. It’s one app for the whole country rather than a group per city, but every post is filed under a location. A post about you will usually sit under Tampa, or under wherever she was when she wrote it.
Like the groups, Tea is women-only and identity-verified, so you can’t see it yourself. A Group Check doesn’t include Tea. If you want both searched, the Full Check covers Tea, the groups and your photos in one report.
A researcher searches the groups by hand and sends you a plain yes or no, with the evidence if there is any. We never post, comment or contact anyone, and nobody can see that you searched.
Both, and a Tampa check covers them. The visible backup group takes in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater together, and women on either side of the bay often join groups for both.
The main Tampa group doesn’t appear in Facebook search, so there’s nothing for you to click on. Groups like this often limit who can find and join them. A check is the practical way around that.
It can be. A post doesn’t follow you to your next base, but it stays in the group where it was written. Checking before you transfer means you leave with a clear picture.
