The Orlando “Are We Dating The Same Guy” group is private and women-only, so you can’t look for yourself. We search it for you, along with the groups around it, and email you a written report within 24 hours.
Largest group in Facebook search: Are We Dating The Same Guy? | Orlando · about 74K members
“Are We Dating The Same Guy” is a network of private Facebook groups, each one tied to a city or region. Women join the group for where they live, post a photo or a screenshot of a man they’ve met or matched with, and ask whether anyone else knows him. Here is how that works in Orlando.
Orlando is unusual in how many people on the apps at any moment are just passing through. Tourists, convention guests and people in town for a week of work training all open an app and see local profiles. The Orlando group, with about 74,000 members, is made up mostly of local women, but the men being discussed are not always local men. A post can be about someone who was here for a few days and has long since gone home.
For a man who lives here, that mix works both ways. Women in the group are used to posts about visitors, and they tend to look closely at photos to work out whether a man is local before anyone comments.
A large part of Orlando works in hospitality: the theme parks, the resort hotels, the restaurants along International Drive and the convention center. That means nights, weekends and rotating schedules. People on those hours often meet on apps because a typical Friday-night social life doesn’t fit around their shifts. The industry is also closely connected, with people moving between employers and knowing each other across them, so a post can reach people who share a workplace with you sooner than you might assume.
The University of Central Florida in east Orlando has one of the largest student bodies in the country, which keeps a steady flow of younger daters in the area. Winter Park, College Park, Lake Nona and Kissimmee each have their own feel, and a first date often means driving across the metro rather than walking around the corner. Women in the group come from all of these areas, so a post about a man in one part of town rarely stays there.
Many people in Central Florida treat Orlando and Tampa as one dating area, joined by I-4 with Lakeland in between. A separate Central Florida group of about 18,000 members covers both cities. We start with the main Orlando group and then the surrounding groups where a screenshot is most likely to be shared, including the Tampa Bay groups, that Central Florida group and the groups covering Florida as a whole. If you’ve lived or dated somewhere else, list it in the order notes and we’ll check there as well.
Checking usually isn’t a response to a crisis. A man has heard about the group from a coworker, or noticed a match acting oddly, and want to know whether there is anything there at all. A written answer replaces the guessing with something you can actually work from, on your own time.
Admins screen people before they’re let in, and men are turned away. There is no visitor view and no way to browse from outside.
Posts don’t show up on Google or in Facebook search outside the group. If you’re in a post, it exists only for the people inside.
Getting a friend to look means telling her why. Most men would rather not, and one person scrolling a busy group can easily miss a post.
By your first name and age, by the photos you upload, and by any dating app handles or nicknames you give us. Photos matter most: many posts are just a screenshot of a profile with no name attached.
A written report by email. If something is there, you get a direct link to the post, screenshots, the date it went up, and how much attention it has had. If nothing is there, we say so plainly and list everywhere we looked.
Tea is the other place men get posted, and it works differently from the groups. It’s one app for the whole country rather than a group per city, but every post is filed under a location. A post about you will usually sit under Orlando, or under wherever she was when she wrote it.
Like the groups, Tea is women-only and identity-verified, so you can’t see it yourself. A Group Check doesn’t include Tea. If you want both searched, the Full Check covers Tea, the groups and your photos in one report.
A researcher searches the groups by hand and sends you a plain yes or no, with the evidence if there is any. We never post, comment or contact anyone, and nobody can see that you searched.
Not in itself. Your hours mostly shape how you date, often more on apps and with people outside your usual circle. A check tells you whether anything is in the groups now, whatever your schedule.
You could. Women in the group regularly post about men they met while those men were visiting, so a short trip can be enough. Tell us roughly when you were there and where you live now, and we’ll search both.
Most likely the Orlando group, since students and recent graduates make up part of its membership. If you’re from elsewhere in Florida and still date at home, add your hometown on the order form and we’ll include the groups covering it.
