Largest group in Facebook search: Are We Dating The Same Guy? | Las Vegas LV / Nevada · about 57K members
“Are We Dating The Same Guy” is a network of private Facebook groups, each one tied to a city or region. Women join the group for where they live, post a photo or a screenshot of a man they’ve met or matched with, and ask whether anyone else knows him. Here is how that works in Las Vegas.
Open a dating app in Las Vegas and many of the profiles belong to people who will be gone by Monday. Locals learn to tell the difference quickly. The Las Vegas group, with about 57,000 members, is largely made up of women who live and date here year-round, and posts in it can be about local men or about men who were only in town for a weekend. Members tend to look carefully at photos to work out which is which.
For a man who lives in the valley, the group is part of the local scene in a way that’s easy to underestimate. The women reading it are often the same women he is likely to match with again.
Much of Las Vegas works in casinos, resorts, restaurants and entertainment, and those jobs run around the clock. Swing and graveyard shifts mean a date might start after midnight or on a Tuesday afternoon. People on those schedules lean on apps because ordinary social plans don’t line up with their hours. The hospitality world on and off the Strip is also closely connected, so word can travel between coworkers and across properties fairly quickly.
Las Vegas is much wider than the Strip. Henderson to the southeast and Summerlin on the west side are home to many of the people who work in the city, and a lot of everyday dating happens in these suburbs and in neighborhoods away from the tourist corridor. A first date between Henderson and Summerlin is a drive across the whole valley, which tends to mean the two people don’t share many friends.
Plenty of Southern California residents drive up I-15 for the weekend, and some come often enough to date here regularly. If that’s you, you may have been posted in a Las Vegas group without ever having lived in Nevada.
We start with the main group and then the surrounding groups where posts from the same area end up: the smaller groups covering Las Vegas and Henderson, another Las Vegas group of about 9,000 members, and the groups covering Nevada as a whole. If you live in Los Angeles or San Diego, or have dated anywhere else, list it in the order notes and we’ll check there as well.
Men in Las Vegas often decide to check after something small: a match who seemed to know more than his profile said, a coworker’s offhand comment, a date that ended oddly. A written result gives you a fact to work with instead of a question that follows you into the next shift.
Admins screen people before they’re let in, and men are turned away. There is no visitor view and no way to browse from outside.
Posts don’t show up on Google or in Facebook search outside the group. If you’re in a post, it exists only for the people inside.
Getting a friend to look means telling her why. Most men would rather not, and one person scrolling a busy group can easily miss a post.
By your first name and age, by the photos you upload, and by any dating app handles or nicknames you give us. Photos matter most: many posts are just a screenshot of a profile with no name attached.
A written report by email. If something is there, you get a direct link to the post, screenshots, the date it went up, and how much attention it has had. If nothing is there, we say so plainly and list everywhere we looked.
Tea is the other place men get posted, and it works differently from the groups. It’s one app for the whole country rather than a group per city, but every post is filed under a location. A post about you will usually sit under Las Vegas, or under wherever she was when she wrote it.
Like the groups, Tea is women-only and identity-verified, so you can’t see it yourself. A Group Check doesn’t include Tea. If you want both searched, the Full Check covers Tea, the groups and your photos in one report.
A researcher searches the groups by hand and sends you a plain yes or no, with the evidence if there is any. We never post, comment or contact anyone, and nobody can see that you searched.
You could be. The main group draws women from right across the valley, including Summerlin and Henderson, and most of them live and date well away from the Strip. We search it along with the groups covering the suburbs.
If you date while you’re here, it’s worth it. Women in the Las Vegas groups often post about men who visit regularly. Tell us where you live on the order form and we’ll search the groups covering home as well.
Yes. The main group is the largest, but there are smaller groups covering Las Vegas and Henderson and at least one other Las Vegas group. We search them together with the main one, so you don’t need to know which is which.
